Departure Foundation Micro-residency2 May 2013

A group of artists have been occupying Departure Foundation’s OPEN PLAN project space throughout May. The Private View event showcases a multitude of outcomes and possibilities spawned from the artists’ parallel responses to the large office space in the centre of The City. Artists: Birgitte Aasen, Alex Chalmers, Marg Duston, Robin Gardiner, AnnaMaria Kardos, Carol Mancke, Ella McCartney, Natalie Sanders, Charlotte Young.

 

Testing ground at Open Plan [Departure Foundation]

A three day collaborative project by six artists testing and responding to Open Plan. Productive days on site with rotating crits and discussions of how the site’s aesthetics’ and functional layout impacts each practice in developing new site-related work. In fact, having reconsidered plans opened up different paths of co-existent making and extending individual practices. [19 March, 8 and 9 April 2013]

OPEN PLAN: Strategies and Tactics

Thursday 7th February 2013, 6 - 9pm.

Loosely referencing Michel De Certeau's terms Strategy and Tactic in The Practice of Everyday Life. These terms are summarised here.

The Schedule

OPEN PLAN: A space for discussions, exchange, events and exhibition.

Events will take place on the following Thursdays 6-9pm: February 7th, February 28th, March 21st, April 11th, April 25th.

10th January 2013. A group of artists from RCA Sculpture and AltMFA spent the day on site planning the project.

Members of AltMFA and RCA Sculpture will be occupying the space for a whole day. This one day residency will be a starting point for collaboration, exchange and sharing ideas about how we want to use the space in the coming months.
